Owner & Head Trainer
Amanda
Hey guys!
My name is Amanda Jones and I am the Owner/Head Trainer of Perspective K9. After spending years working with a variety of different species (dogs, horses, livestock, poultry, exotics, rodents, aquatics & more), I always come back to dogs.
My experience starts at 11 years old, bathing & leash walking puppies for a local boarding kennel, which blossomed into 8 years of employment with that business and eventually the kennel manager title. I went to Purdue University for Animal Sciences with a concentration in production, while working in a variety of jobs to widen my experience including but not limited to: veterinary clinics, horse/pig/cattle farms, & dog boarding/training facilities. I've attended a host of dog training seminars and workshops, and am grateful for all continued learning opportunities that come my way. In 2024, I attended the NePoPo Silver & Gold schools.
These days, I am competing with my personal dogs in the sport of PSA (Protection Sports Association, as well as training to be a certified trial decoy. My hobbies include taking my dogs hiking, camping, being out on the water, horse-back riding, & going to the gym! I have a male Malinois named Ruko, an English Cocker Spaniel named Margo, and a young Dutch Shepherd pup named Atari. I also have 2 cats and a ball python!

Trainer
Jared
Maya....A nose thumping, bird chasing, yellow machine. 2011, a young boy that liked to hunt birds, be in nature, appreciate nature, and shoot guns. She was my dad's dog and got me into what I thought was hunting; but turned out to be an enjoyment of working retrievers. Maya was a yellow bench labrador that also was the mother of my first dog; who is still with me today, Raven. I got into hunt tests in 2012 with my black bench labrador retriever. She was a slow one but great for learning.
14 years later my main enjoyment is still being in the quiet fields running retrievers any time I can. I started training "professionally" at the age of twenty. Specializing in retrievers/bird dogs and helping people slipping the leash and getting past their limits: specializing in E Collar training and focusing on a foundation of movement. 9 years and aprx 900-1000 dogs in. Anywhere from puppies, to up to 17years of age; as far as reactive dogs, to fearful ones and the strong ones. I still enjoy advocating for people's companions and preserving the species so everyone can thrive. Man of Christ trying to serve my Lord, Jesus.
1 Peter 5:2 NIV Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve.

Kennel Tech
Joslyn
Hi! My name is Joslyn and I’m a kennel tech at Perspective K9, and am working toward becoming a trainer. I’m a recent high school graduate and wasn’t sure what the next steps were for me after high school, all I’ve known is that my whole life I’ve always loved dogs and enjoyed working with them. So far, I am really enjoying the sport aspect of the dog world and would love to continue that pathway! Outside of working, I enjoy going to the gym, pickleball, and hanging out with those close to me!

Administrative Assistant
Erica
I've loved animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up with anywhere from one to five dogs at home sparked a lifelong passion that led me to volunteer at a dog training facility, work at a doggy daycare, and eventually join the Perspective K9 team as the Administrative Assistant. While I'm currently a proud cat mom to two beautiful girls, dogs will always have a special place in my heart. When you call or message us, I'll most likely be the first person you talk to, and I can't wait to hear all about your best friend!
